Author Bio

Denise Baer was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She is no stranger to the liberal arts—of Lithuanian and German decent—she comes from a line of successes. Her great-grandfather, Baltrus Sidiskis was a published poet, her grandmother, Genevieve Sidiskis (Getling) Giedraitis, was a professional opera singer and her aunt was a professional ballet dancer.

In her last quarter of college, Denise came up with a novel idea, and that idea grew into her first unpublished romance novel. This sparked her love of writing, so she continued to learn the craft and find her voice. Since then, she has expanded her writing projects to poetry, short stories, and her current novel. She has written articles for Helium under the alias Bea Sempere.

Denise’s newly published dark, psychological suspense novel, Net Switch, is available on Createspace (subsidiary of Amazon) and Amazon in paperback, and Kindle and Nook.

She has poems published in Danse Macabre in the Kismet (February 2010) and Belles Lettres (April 2010) issues. Her published poetry e-book, Sipping a Mix of Verse, is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Lulu.
